Beautiful location, Wonderful restaurant, very well appointed rooms - comfortable & modern but warm with leather chairs and excellent extras (bottles in the room that could be filled at the bar with local wine or beer). It felt luxurious and was luxurious for a very reasonable price. The staff was really pleasant and helpful. The restaurant food was amazing. We had dinner one night and it was fantastic, built around fresh local ingredients it was excellently cooked, presented and amazing. In fact it was better than the dinner the following night at the highly touted restaurant on the waterfront in town. A really wonderful place. If you stay make sure you eat often at the restaurant!

We LOVED our experience at the Sherwood and have called it one of our favourite hotels ever. The interiors are stunning, and the restaurant/bar serves some of the best food we’ve ever tasted. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were delicious and memorable. The cocktails were also out of this world. The room itself is comfortable, decorated beautifully, and full of little quirky things like refillable beer/wine bottles. The bathroom was slightly dated in appearance in comparison to the lovely rooms, but that doesn’t really matter unless you’re booking purely for aesthetics. All in all we’d love to stay here more often if we lived closer!

rooms are good size, has a coffee table and two lounge chairs that looked out over the grounds. Bathroom was okay, my only issue here was the shower, there was no instructions on how to use the shower itself and each time I tried I could either have the water freezing cold or scalding hot, there was no middle, so I had to have a bath each night instead of a shower. There are no televisions in the rooms, not a problem for myself, proper wooden coat hangers which was a bonus to hang my clothes up.

Second time I have stayed at Sherwood, and it continued to be a great base to see Queenstown. Room was spacious and well appointed, staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was great for dinner (need to book). Bus stop to Queenstown, Arrowtown, Lake Hayes and the Skibus (etc) is out the front (down a slope) which was very convenient - as this place isn't in central Queenstown, you get to see stars at night, and it's very quiet in the evenings.

Minimalist aesthetic that meant the rooms aren't cluttered. Everything you would need for a short stay. They also have things like projectors to borrow if you do want to stay in. We enjoyed the vegan options in the restaurant one evening and yoga the next morning. Both were excellent! The grounds are really well kept, plant life is well looked after! The staff were all friendly and happy to help. Definitely worth a stay if you are in the area.
